Body building is a thing many men and women like and invest their time, money and energy in. Everyone wants that good physique but not much people has what it takes to get to that level of physique.

As a beginner to the Gym, you want to look like your favorite celebrity or maybe something more but in summary, you want to look fit. It can be pretty challenging when you’re starting for the first time, there are going to be lots of gains and pains, wins and losses. The wins make you and the losses seems to discourage you and you eventually quit.

We are going to take a look at a few reasons why beginners quit going to the Gym.

 

1. Gym Pain

This is the most common reason why beginners quit going to the Gym. When you are new to body building and you go to the gym for the first time, you are going to get excited In the beginning but may never come back to the Gym at the end of the day. This is because you are going to be introducing some new stress that your body is not used to. Your body is not used to lifting heavy objects so after your first day, you are likely to get pains all over your body and can barely be able to lift your hands.

This is normal and inevitable in body building but beginners freaks out when they feel it. The Muscle soreness don’t last forever, it just last for 24 to 72 hours and you should be alright. However, you can ease the soreness by getting a massage, putting ice on the sore regions and exercising light like walking or swimming.

It’s not just beginners that has muscle soreness, even those that have been training seems to have it too sometimes so don’t freak out when u feel this.

2. Delayed Results

This is another reason why beginners quit going to the Gym. As a beginner, you are curious and anxious to get those big biceps and triceps. Well relax! It don’t come as easy as that. depending on certain factors, your gym result starts becoming visible to people. It becomes more visible as you train more. if you have been exercising For sometimes now and you don’t seems to see the results, don’t panic, it takes some time. As they say, it takes a month to notice the difference yourself, two months for your friends to notice it and three months for the wold to notice it so don’t quit, be consistent and you will see the results in no time.

3. Intimidation

This is a thing newbies can’t cope with. When you go to the gym, you will see newbies like yourself and you will see those gym bros or professionals that have been going to the Gym for a long time and already have that body that you dream of. you see the gym bros lifting all sort of heavy equipments, doing several workouts and you are just there struggling with a small dumbbell. You are likely to get intimidated especially when these gym Bros looks at you in a weird way. dont worry, you’ll get used to it over time. Just focus on your workouts, be consistent and build yourself. someday you will get to that level you want

4. Cost of Membership

This is a discouraging factor for many newbies that love body building. Some Gum membership fee are way too high for an average person to afford and hence they get discouraged or turn to an improvised gym which most time has no instructor and has a wrong weighing for the equipments.

Instead of quiting, rather look for a gym that has an affordable membership fee and build that body that you love.

5. No/Wrong Instructions

When you are new to the Gym, you are going to see a lot of equipments that you’ve not seen or used before hence you need a fitness instructor to guide you through so you don’t end up injuring yourself or getting frustrated at the end of the day. Be careful when choosing a fitness instructor as some of them may not be good at coaching and get you frustrated at the end of the day.

So these are the 5 reasons why beginners quit going to the Gym. If you are a beginner, Exercise good, eat good,  sleep good and be consistent. you will be alright.
