Zelenskiy addressed the Canadian Assembly: Who we have seen is our true friend

Addressing the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) Meeting held in London, the capital of England in the early hours, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy addressed the Canadian Parliament this time via video conference from the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, speaking in parliament before Zelenskiy’s address, stated that Zelenskiy’s speech is an opportunity for Canadians to hear directly what is going on in Ukraine. “Your courage and the courage of your people inspire us all,” said Trudeau.

Speaking after Trudeau, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said, “Every night is terrible. Russians are bombarding with all kinds of artillery and tanks. They are hitting civilian infrastructure, they are hitting buildings. Can you imagine? A fire at a nuclear power plant. This is exactly what happened in our country. “They’re lowering Ukrainian flags in every city. Can you imagine someone lowering the Canadian flag in Montreal and other Canadian cities?” said.

Reiterating his global call for the closure of Ukrainian airspace and the imposition of sanctions against Russia, Zelenskiy said, “I know you support Ukraine. We have become friends with you. But I also want you to understand and feel what we feel every day. We want to live and we want to be winners.”

“How many more missiles do we need to drop on our cities?”

“Can you imagine when you call your friends, your friends and say, ‘Please close the airspace, please stop the bombings’? How many more missiles have to fall on our cities before we do this? When we talked to our partners, they said, ‘Please, wait, wait a little longer,'” Zelenskiy said.

Noting that Ukraine could not get a clear answer on NATO membership, Zelenskiy said, “It is a difficult situation, but it has also allowed us to see who our true friends are in the last 20 days and also in the last eight years.” Zelenskiy stated that more needs to be done to stop Russia and protect Ukraine and Europe from the Russian threat.

“Imagine someone besieging Vancouver”

Asking Canadian lawmakers to imagine how their country would react to the invasion, Zelenskiy said, “Can you imagine starting to hear loud explosions at 4:00 am? Can you, your children, imagine hearing all these violent explosions? Bombing of Ottawa Airport? Dozens of other cities. Can you imagine?” said.

Referring to the Russian siege of Mariupol, Ukraine, Zelenskiy said: “Imagine someone besieging Vancouver. Can you imagine that for a second? All these people left in a city like this are almost without food and water, without heat, water or means of communication. Mariupol This is exactly the current situation in the city,” he said.

“Can you imagine if the famous CN Tower in Toronto had been hit by Russian bombs? Of course I don’t want this to happen to anyone, but this is the reality we live in,” Zelesnkiy said.

Sanctions of 15 Russian officials from Canada

Before Zelenskiy’s address in the Canadian Parliament, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly stated that Russia has imposed sanctions on 15 more Russian officials for its attacks on Ukraine. “President Putin has chosen to advance his illegal and unjust invasion. He can also make the choice to end it by immediately ending the senseless violence and withdrawing his forces. Canada will not hesitate to take further steps if the Russian leadership does not change course,” Joly said.
