What is the QQI? The QQI, in other words, is called Quality and Qualifications Ireland. This particular certification can only be gotten in Ireland. What does this mean? It means that only if you’re inside Ireland, that is when this certification can be issued to you. It cannot be issued to you outside Ireland. So when I hear people say that “Oh, QQI is mandatory,” I’m like, “Where do they get this information from?”

What does this mean? After two years being employed in Ireland as a healthcare assistant, that is where you need the QQI. I hope this does justice. As when I saw this, I took my time. Pally taking my time yesterday to research about this and when I saw it, I’m like, “Wow, finally something to prove this. Something to prove this. You don’t need a QQI when applying from overseas. You only need it when you move into Ireland after 2 years working in that occupation you want to renew your visa.
That is when you need the QQI level five.” This is because most of the time when you’re moving into Island as a care assistant, you would be given a 2 years work permit. Two years work permit that you can renew after working in that occupation in Ireland. When you are inside Island, that is where you need the QQI.

What is the QQI? QQI is simply a certification. It’s a certification that qualifies students in training in the care and it comes in eight modules. Okay, now I know that definitely if you want to move into Ireland as a care assistant, you can’t just move in without showing any proven evidence or any backup that you have some experiences in world, the care job and reason why there is an alternative meaning you don’t have to do the QQI but you can gather some certification that is going to boost your chance.
So when you submit your CV to an employer, the employer would say, indeed this person, this man, this um, knows what they are talking about. They know their onions. They know what what the O care permit, what the care job ENT in Ireland. Now I’ve contacted some schools and they have also said that Clara one can do this Qi if they’re outside of Ireland. However, they can get some certification so alternative to this QQI, you can get some certifications on Florence Academy on Alison Academy like I said the QQI is in eight modules which is been split into two known as mandatory and elective courses.

For the mandatory courses, we have care support, we have care skill, we have safety and health at work, we also have communication. These are the mandatory courses. For the elective courses, we have care of the older person, nutrition and infection control, also prevention control and you have recovery in mental health.
Now I know it’s a lot however you don’t have to do all of those courses because I know sometimes the Florence Academy Alison Academy will require you to pay some fee, sub sented amount before they can give you the certification. Now all you need to do is ensure you do the compulsory mandatory ones as I mentioned earlier then you can get some from the elective courses maybe one or two.
