Solutions Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Consultant to play a key role in Shelf’s sales process of our Knowledge Management platform that combines AI with modern SaaS infrastructure and a simple user experience to help agents and customers get the answers they need–on-demand.

The Solutions Consultant works closely with Shelf account executives and product developers to make sure that demonstrations of the Shelf platform are a success. The Solutions Consultant will be tasked with the setup and customization of the Shelf demo so it meets the needs of each specific sales opportunity. The Solutions Consultant is responsible for account growth and expanding Shelf within an organization or franchise, in addition to supporting new clients. The Solutions Consultant will also play a significant role in the set up, support, and management of pilot and proof-of-concept environments for key opportunities that are in the latter stages of the sales process.

The Solutions Consultant needs to have a strong technical background and will need to be able to work with the Shelf API, as well as the APIs of other platforms, to highlight the full scale of Shelf’s capabilities. The ideal candidate can manage their workload to meet hard deadlines, manage multiple concurrent projects, and be able to accommodate time sensitive tasks that require short turnaround times.

What We’re Looking For

  • Ownership of the pre-sales technical support of potential customers and partners from the initial contact, through evaluation and deal closure.
  • Setting up custom demo environments by utilizing the Shelf API and integrating Shelf into other SaaS applications.
  • Working in a cross functional capacity with members of the sales and product team to bring Shelf capabilities to life during customer meetings and demos.
  • Assisting with the technical set up of customer proof-of-concept environments.
  • Participation in meetings between sales and product teams; interfacing with members of the product team to collect information needed to support the sales process.
  • Creating technical sales documentation to support specific opportunities.
  • Assisting members of the sales team during the creation of proposals (RFP)
  • Conducting background research to support specific sales opportunities.
  • Performing technical consultations, support, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Collecting technical information about the customer’s infrastructure and application architecture and apply to a technical solution project.
  • Preparing and conducting data migrations, such as through scripts, APIs, database operations, etc.

What You Bring

  • 5-7 years of experience in a B2B sales environment as a Sales Engineer & product expert in a client facing role
  • Demonstrated skills employing a consultative, solution-oriented approach to engaging with prospects & customers
  • Strong interest in building creative solutions and working with internal and external APIs
  • Strong technical acumen with a focus on backend and integrations; some programming chops (e.g. REACT)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other non-technical sales team members as well as with product and engineering team members
  • Ability to explain a complicated solution into something that can be digested by a non-technical prospect
  • Self-motivated, driven, and results-oriented mindset, with a passion for exceeding customer expectations
  • Familiarity with complex sales cycles and an account-based sales model
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail; process-oriented worker
  • Proficiency using SaaS products and productivity tools; experience using enterprise content management systems a plus
  • You maintain a positive attitude while demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and you can operate in ambiguity
  • Experience in the customer experience/contact center industry a plus
